bringing nature in for an active family

the church hill residence is located on the high side of a 10-acre site in western Pennsylvania.  it overlooks a valley of sorts and a farm across to another hill.  

the residence was designed with an active and growing family in mind.  the children were small when the design process first started so they wanted to the house to be able to be effective as the children age.  the family regularly has extended family come to stay as well, so they needed a home that could be comfortable with a houseful of occupants.
